“ You can smoke here! 24 hours! I love this place. Food- epic. Service- amazing. If you stop in Douglas- make sure you stop here ”
“ Solid homestyle cooking. Great selection including breakfast all day. Loved the decor with something new in every dining room. Service was spot on even on July 4th. ”
“ All 5 star restaurant, service, food and on top of all the restaurant looks like a museum. And really clean. The staff were amazing. Parking lot was Klein and safe. One other cool thing they had a smoking patio sitting for those they enjoy a cigarette at their table. To add on. Some people don’t like the fact there is a smoking area and n front. I’m not a smoker but I don’t think it is any negative. Most year around customers here are the farmers, truckers and such so they are serving their customers. ”
“ Inside the wooden frame of the Plains Trading Post Restaurant lies another world, another time, captured and held by something which cannot quite be put into words. Alive in the air, the food, the drinks, and the eyes of the staff, this energy flows freely. Be aware, vigilant in your intentions, that you might partake and transfer this energy openly. Fill your stomach, your heart and soul. Drink, eat, and be well. ”

“ 1st Review I’ve ever written in all our travels... absolutely LOVE this place. The history is incredible! It’s been open 24hours a day, 365 days a year for the past 40 years! Applauding ownership and staff for taking pride in this place and going the extra mile. Food and Service was excellent! They don’t make ‘em like this anymore!!! ”
“ Service and food were great! New waitress was working her first shift so I had to leave her a big tip. I had the New York strip cooked medium which was perfect. I asked for cheese, butter and sour cream for my potato and it was delicious. It also came with a small cup or corn and dinner roll. Love that they are open 24/7!!! I got off work after midnight so this was perfect. Love the old historical place too! ”
“ Great historical building with great decor! Love that they still have a salad bar & the hunter's buffet. Food & service was good. ”
